Liposomal technology is a process in which the content properties of the formula is broken into microparticles - 100,000 times small than a human hair - and the particles are then encapsulated in a lipid (fat). KAMU uses phosphatidylcholine as the fat, which is derived directly from sunflower seed. The encapsulation process creates a microscopic nutrient bundle which has highly increased bioavailability. Typically a nutrient is first processed/broken down (potentially multiple times until is it small enough) by the digestive tract and then is sent to the right cells and/or expelled as waste. Liposomes are microscopic enough to not require the digestive tract to break them down for absorption and therefore can be directly dispersed into the bloodstream for rapid bioavailability. Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of many active strains in cannabis. CBD is a non-psychoactive element of cannabis, so it does not result in a “high” typically associated with cannabis. CBD is commonly used to address anxiety, insomnia and chronic pain. KAMU only uses clean, pesticide-free CBD from our U.S. partner farms.

If an extract is full-spectrum, this means it contains all phytochemicals naturally found in the plant, including CBD, trace cannabinoids, terpenes and flavinoids. Our high-quality full spectrum oil is naturally high in CBD, but also contains several minor cannabinoids and very low THC. This is referred to as the “entourage effect” because the cannabinoids work synergistically together for increased effectiveness that enhance what a single compound alone can achieve. Our full-spectrum CBD contains less than .03% THC content.

Broad-spectrum CBD contains cannabidiol and all the other compounds within the plant, minus the THC, which is completely removed after the initial extraction. Broad spectrum has the same “entourage” as Full spectrum except the THC has been removed.
